Make a Connection!

I can be connected 24/7. I am phoning, emailing, blogging, tweeting, texting…that is a fabulous part of our world, and it’s just going to expand. In a world of tech savvy people we can stay connected and voice our thoughts and opinions.

But in a world like this, people are STARVING for a connection.  We can voice our opinion, we want to be heard and make a difference… we are looking for a place where we feel we belong.

How can you fill that void for connection?

The best thing you can do every single day is make a connection to the earth!

Find a piece of ground to put your feet on… feel the earth under your feet. Go into your back yard, or find a park, put your feet in the dirt, feel the grass on your skin, and take some nice deep breaths, Go Hug a TREE! We are so lucky to be near the Rocky Mountains, can you take a day to go for a hike?

We don’t even realize how much noise and chaos is around us, causing us to be ungrounded, and feel that “fight or flight” syndrome, and our stress level sky-rockets!

By connecting with the earth, such a simple thing a few moments a day, you can slow down your heart rate, stay grounded, and de-stress!

When I try to connect with Mother Earth, I sit quietly on the ground, and connect with my own heart beat, is it  beating fast? … then I try to listen for the heartbeat of the earth.

Put your feet in the dirt, lay on the grass, hug a tree.

I start with some deep cleansing breaths, in and out. When I try to connect, my breathing will slow down, my heart rate will slow down and match to the earth’s. It just takes a few minutes out of your day, such a simple thing can have a big impact on your stress rate.

Then you are ready to take on the world again, and make the most of our modern connections!
